What to Do Before Your Cleaner Arrives: Austin Checklist

Ten minutes of prep can add 30 minutes of actual cleaning to your visit. Here's the exact checklist we recommend to every Austin customer.

The 10-minute prep list

Do these in order.

  • Pick up clothes, toys, and shoes from floors
  • Clear kitchen counters into cabinets or a single tray
  • Run or empty the dishwasher
  • Put pets in a closed room with water and a bed
  • Leave a note on the counter for priority areas

What you do NOT need to do

Do not pre-clean. Do not scrub surfaces. Do not fold laundry. Do not move furniture. That's what your cleaner is here for.

Access and parking

Send door codes, gate codes, or key location the day before. In Austin, mention driveway width or street parking rules if your street is tight (common in Hyde Park, Clarksville, and Travis Heights).

Frequently asked

+What if my house is really messy?

Book a deep clean instead of a standard. Deep cleans are built for homes that need extra time.

+Should I strip the beds?

Only if you want linens changed — leave clean sheets on the bed and we'll swap them.
